About me

Hi! I'm Andy Blower

I love fixing things and making them shiny and neat! My background includes an Engineering Degree, Tree Surgery, building machinery and Landscape Gardening - I’ve had quite a lot of experience in listening to customers and making things perfect.

An Engineering Mind

I studied Engineering not just to get a degree, but because I’m naturally wired to understand how things work and to bring order to chaos. After university, I chose a hands-on path in the trades, where I could combine physical work with problem-solving.

Whether it’s understanding the science behind cleaning products or choosing the right wall fixings, I take an analytical, thoughtful approach. I’m driven by a desire to optimise tasks, find efficient solutions, and make sure everything ends up in the right place.

A Listening Ear

Some people love vacuuming.  Some people hate it.  Some people don’t notice cobwebs.  Some people can’t stand them!  Rather than offer a fixed list of tasks, I love to really listen to you, and focus on what will make the biggest difference for you and your family. My goal is to provide support that’s truly helpful, in the way that works best for you.

An Empathetic Heart

Housework and DIY can be very rewarding.  And it can be crushing.  It’s easy to get overwhelmed. As a parent of three children under 10 years old, I know how quickly chaos can take over.  Guilt and perceived failure can crush our spirits, and so often we find these emotions tucked away in the corners of our homes.  Don't worry - I’m not here to judge, I’m here to help!  Whether you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to begin, or discouraged by a stalled project, I offer support without shame – just practical help and understanding.

An Honest and Experienced Worker

I rebuilt our kitchen during lockdown, crafting the cabinets from scratch out of plywood.  I’ve replaced our ground floor flooring, attached things to the crumbling brick of our chimney breast, and built more than my fair share of flat pack furniture. Living in a Victorian town house has taught me a lot – but also that there’s always more to learn.

I take a hands-on, honest approach: if I can do it, I’ll do it.  If I can’t, I’ll let you know.  If I need time to figure it out, I’ll take that time. Rest assured, I’ll never try and make a quick buck by doing a bad job of something or deliver something I wouldn’t be proud of.
